The Environmental Alliance of New Mexico |
|
Each year, CVNM Education Fund facilitates the “Environmental Alliance of New Mexico,” (EANM) an alliance of nearly two dozen environmental groups working collaboratively to elevate environmental issues at the New Mexico State Legislature. The mission of the alliance is to convey a unified front to state legislators about the legislative priorities of the environmental community in New Mexico. This year, EANM is committed to protecting the critical common-sense safeguards that protect the air, land, and water that our families and communities depend on. Every year, legislation is introduced that would weaken or remove these vital protections. As New Mexico cannot afford to lose these protections, every year EANM fights to make sure that these safeguards are unharmed. Rural New Mexico Engagement CVNM Education Fund believes that concern for New Mexico’s air, land, water and quality of life is a deeply held value shared amongst a vast majority of New Mexicans. These values run deep and are an entrenched part of history and culture in this state, yet sadly, those values are at times not reflected in the decisions made by some rural New Mexican elected officials. Working closely local residents from communities throughout rural New Mexico, CVNM-EF is kicking off a multi-year outreach strategy aimed at engaging communities in these areas around the environmental issues important to them. Information and values gleamed from the engagement will be incorporated into our rural outreach advocacy to protect New Mexico. |
